In recent days, you have likely heard intensifying reports about a new coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China. This new disease has sickened hundreds and led to multiple deaths, according to the latest official reports.
The threat to the Limestone College community currently is considered low, but outbreaks of new viruses in humans are always a public health concern.

The ceremonial shovels are standing ready as Limestone College prepares for yet another monumental event on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m., when a groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the institution’s new multi-million-dollar library and student center.
The dual-purpose building is being made possible as part of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Program. Limestone’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously in September of 2018 to accept the terms of the loan as part of an overall $42.5 million project for the College.

Limestone College officials have announced that the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the governing body that helps to uphold the educational quality of degree-granting institutions throughout the South, has reaffirmed Limestone’s accreditation for an additional 10 years.

Limestone College’s second graduate-level degree program is officially on the way.
Plans are being finalized to add an online Master of Social Work (MSW) program that is expected to begin in the summer of 2020. Limestone has offered an online Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree since 2012.

Limestone College’s sixth annual “SaintsGiving” event was deemed a tremendous success as over $100,000 was raised recently to support numerous areas of the institution.
A total of $100,852, including gifts and pledges, was raised during the event that concluded at midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 3, according to Kelly Curtis, Limestone’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
In all, 126 donors contributed to 34 different funds, with much of the support assisting Limestone’s many scholarship programs.
