  • Graduate Assistant for the College of Business

    Graduate Assistant will work 20 hours a week that may include evening hours.

    Scope of work:

    To assist the College of Business Dean, Department Chairs, and Faculty with administrative support to help ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the College’s use of social media posts and other communication and outreach to engage prospective students, current students, alumni, and community partners.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive social media plan for systematic and effective posts to promote the College of Business on various platforms.
    • Contact prospective students in the College’s undergraduate business and MBA program to provide information about programs and continue to follow up through all means of communication.
    • Promote undergraduate and graduate business programs at both in-person and virtual recruiting events.
    • Communicate in person, email, on the telephone, social media, and through mailings with potential, current students, and alumni.
    • Make calls during the evening hours as needed to increase contact communication with potential students who work or attend school during the day.
    • Assist with working at events and meetings for the College and Departments, where practical.  
    • Assist Dean and Department Chairs with filing, organizing, and with activities such as student advising preparation, meeting preparation, and scheduling.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with acceptance into MBA program at Limestone University. Candidate must have excellent organization skills, be detail-oriented, and possess the ability to multi-task. Proficient use of MS office products social media is required. Applicant must be dependable, demonstrate good work ethic, have a customer-service orientation, work cooperatively in a team environment. The applicant must also have the ability to set priorities, take initiative to work with minimal direction for completion of tasks/projects, and exhibit the ability to maintain high professional standards. Candidate must abide by confidentiality requirements. Occasional evening work may be required.

  • Graduate Assistant Position with Esport

    Graduate Assistant will work 20 hours a week that may include a mix of day and evening hours.

    Scope of work:

    These descriptions of work are fairly broad because I am able to offer the GA flexibility in working in which areas of the program, they are most interested in. Program activities occur mostly from the hours 5-10pm, so the GA will need to be generally available during those times. 

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Assist the head coach in scheduling team activities such as practices, scrimmages, and matches
    • Assist the head coach in recruitment activities including outreach and attending local LAN events
    • Assist the head coach in developing healthy team environments by mediating disputes in and out of games
    • Assist the head coach in live broadcasting the matches of all teams' official conference matches
    • Assist the head coach in negotiating with esports conferences to set up annual competition
    • Assist the head coach in maintaining on-campus esports facilities when necessary
    • Assist the head coach in advising the Gaming Club in their meetings and event coordination
    • Assist the head coach in overseeing and moderating program communications on social media platforms such as Discord
    • Assist the head coach in adjusting budgetary allocations and uses to best suit program needs
    • Assist the head coach in any other miscellaneous activities relevant to the program.

  • Graduate Assistant for Residence Life & Housing

    Graduate Assistant Job Description for Residence Life & Housing

    Graduate Assistant will work 20 hours a week that may include a mix of day and evening hours.

    Scope of work:

    The Graduate Assistant Resident Director (RD) shares responsibility in the operation of campus housing and supervision of a Resident Assistant Staff. This position requires the RD to reside in a University-provided on-campus apartment throughout their employment. A meal plan is also provided during the fall & spring semesters.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provide supervision, support, and assistance to an undergraduate staff of Resident Assistants.
    • Uphold and support Limestone University policies.
    • Serve in a year-round on-call rotation to provide support to the residential population. Duty expectations over holiday breaks will be split among Residence Life Staff.
    • Work collaboratively with Campus Safety, the Office of Community Values, the Sib Collins Counseling Center, and other campus resources.
    • Respond to emergency situations and lead/assist as needed.
    • Complete crisis and on-call reporting paperwork.
    • Mediate roommate conflicts and coordinate resolutions.
    • Become familiar with a variety of campus resources, organizations, and services to expedite appropriate student referrals.
    • Maintain a high level of visibility within campus housing and among residential students.
    • Advise and mentor students on academic, personal, and social issues.
    • Provide oversight and hands-on leadership during the opening and closing of campus housing.
    • Conduct Health & Safety Inspections as scheduled.
    • Report maintenance and/or housekeeping concerns via Maximo.
    • Facilitate pre-break room checks.
    • Assist with fire drills as scheduled.
    • Assist with summer camp / conference housing operations.
    • Assist with Summer Orientation (i.e. leading campus housing tours and making student ID cards).
    • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Scope of work:

    To assist the Center for Career and Professional Development with providing career planning guidance to current students and alumni. See job description for more detailed information on daily tasks. Assistance is needed in the Center to ensure the Director can devote the needed attention and time to her current responsibilities. With this currently being a department of one, this added help will ensure the Career Center continues to operate efficiently and that our services and offerings continue to grow.  

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Meet one-on-one with current Limestone students and alumni aiding with resume writing, interview preparation and job search strategies
    • Maintain database for job and internship postings
    • Promote career services and events through social media
    • Communicate in person, email, on the telephone, and through mailings with current students, faculty/staff, alumni and employer partners.
    • Responding to phone calls and emails while Director is out of the office to ensure office is always covered during office hours.
    • Other duties as assigned.

This added help will ensure the programs continue to operate efficiently to ensure the programs continue to grow.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Contact all new inquires to provide information about programs.
    • Continue to follow up the inquires through all means of communication.
    • Promote undergraduate and graduate programs on campus at recruiting events and attending day classes.
    • Communicate in person, email, on the telephone, and through mailings with potential, current students, and alumni.
    • Assist with working events and meetings for the College and Departments, where practical.  
    • Assist Dean, Directors, and Department Chairs with filing and organizing.
    • Answering phones while Dean is out of the office.
    • Make evening calls one day a week during the evening hours to increase contact communication with potential students who work or attend school during the day.
    • Assist Dean in daily activities such as student advising preparation, social media posts, meeting preparation, and scheduling.
    • Other duties as assigned.
