What happens during a Writing Center or OWL session?

The tutor will read the assignment directions and your work on the assignment with you.  Next, you and the tutor will discuss your questions and concerns. The tutor will point out parts of the writing that need revision and help you determine a revision strategy. If you need help with proofreading, formatting, or citing sources, the tutor will work through those issues in your assignment and show you appropriate resources for your future use.

Who can use the Gaffney Writing Center?

All students are invited to use the Gaffney Writing Center, provided they can come to Dixie 103 at the Gaffney Campus.

I want to use the Writing Center but cannot visit the Gaffney Campus.

The LC Online Writing Lab (OWL) is designed for you.  Using the OWL will allow you to talk with the same tutors who work in the Gaffney Writing Center.  Using the microphone and speaker or keyboard on your computer, you will have a live session with a tutor.  You can also communicate with the tutor through typing in a chat function.
