Saints Athletic Bands

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can I get tickets to football games?

You can order tickets now by visiting the Limestone University Football ticket page. Please note that if you have any questions at all about tickets, you will need to reach out to the athletic ticket office. The band office has nothing to do with the sale of tickets for football games, nor do we know any of the specifics around buying them, and we would just direct you to them anyway.

Q: When does the Band rehearse?

“The Marching Saints” rehearses Monday and Thursday from 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM at Timken Field on the Limestone University campus during each week of the Fall term. The band also rehearses on game day Saturday’s (home games) and will begin rehearsal 4-6 hours prior to kick. Outdoor rehearsals are open to the public.

Q: Does the Band Supply Instruments?

Yes. Due to the generosity of Limestone University, we are able to issue large instruments to the sousaphones, baritones, trombones, mellophones, drumline, and colorguard members of the program.

Q: Is Class Credit Available for Band?

All students are required to enroll in Marching Band for one credit. Marching Band is a course offered through the Department of Music. Marching Band also fulfills students’ two physical education credit hours after being registered for four semesters.

Q: How much does Marching Band Cost?

There is a lab fee that is assessed as part of student tuition.

Q: Is Financial Aid available from the Marching Band?

There are several financial aid options available for students that meet the eligibility requirements. A member of our staff can advise you on the financial aid offerings that come with membership in the Marching Saints.

Q: Do The Marching Saints go to every football game?

The Marching Saints members attend every home football game. The Band Directors will decide prior to the football season which away games the Marching Saints will attend.

Q: Other than rehearsals and football games, what are Marching Saints’ members required to attend?

All members are required to also attend band camp the week before classes start, and any band exhibitions/events scheduled by the directors. If a student has a reasonable reason for missing a performance or rehearsal, they should complete an absence request form.

Q: What do I need to know about on-campus housing and “The Marching Saints”?

If a student is staying in on-campus housing, they will need to communicate with Limestone University Housing that they are part of the band, and will need to move into the housing 1 week early, so that they can attend band camp the week before school starts. This is really important, since we will be in the depths of camp when the rest of the campus is allowed to move in. The housing office is making accommodations for “The Marching Saints” prospective members to be allowed to move in early, but they need lead-time in order to be sure that your student’s room is prepared ahead of time.

Q: How do I get photos?

The Marching Saints will have a photographer and videographer present at many band events, which will be posted on our website and social media. There are no guarantees that we can capture a photo of every student at every event, but it is our goal to photograph every student throughout the season!

Q: Who can become a Marching Saint?

The Marching Saints Marching Band is open to all Limestone University students.  Incoming freshmen, current students or transfer students who have experience or training in Brass, Woodwind, or Percussion instruments, or Color Guard are welcome to audition for the band. The Marching Saints also recruits non-performing members as travel managers, photographers, and videographers who assist with band needs during our events. If you are interested in becoming a Marching Saint, please complete our interest form, and one of our staff members will contact you.
