Females that are interested in STEM that are sophomores and juniors from local area high schools are invited to attend the conferences. Each day 100 participants will be mentored by Limestone's female faculty and students through a series of STEM-related training workshops.
For its first four years, Limestone hosted WITS as a one-day event, but it has grown in recent years to accommodate two conferences on consecutive days.
Limestone University’s Women in Technology and Science (WITS) Program is the recipient of the 2018 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education.
