Peace-Educator To Speak At Limestone On October 4

Dr. Arthur Romano, an international peace-educator, consultant and certified nonviolence trainer, will be speaking at Limestone College on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium.

His topic will be “Civility and Difference: Sustaining conversations that matter on campus.”

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Dr. Romano has implemented innovative educational programs in Africa, South America, Asia, Europe, and the United States. Those programs have supported thousands of students in learning practical strategies for building healthy communities, becoming global leaders, and productively engaging with conflict.

He has spoken numerous times at the United Nations and has collaborated with the Department of Public Information to promote the Gandhi-King Season for Nonviolence and the International Day of Peace. Dr. Romano currently serves as a Professor of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University.

The lecture on October 4 will explore the critical role that meaningful dialogue can play in addressing issues of difference on campus.
