Limestone University’s Master of Education in Teacher Leadership program was recently awarded a $1.4 million National Science Foundation grant for Teacher Leadership in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). It represents the largest academic grant that Limestone has received to date, the result of a year-long grant-writing process.

Limestone University will offer a Virtual Open House event on September 20, starting at 12 p.m. & September 27 at 5:30 p.m. for its Online Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. The event is FREE, but registration is required. The deadline to register for the first session is Tuesday, September 19, at 5 p.m. The deadline to register for the second session is Tuesday, September 26, at 5 p.m.

Dancing Ledge
The Limestone University Art Gallery has announced its first exhibition of fall semester, titled “Dancing Ledge.” The exhibit is comprised of one large scale abstract multimedia sculpture and a series of dimensional collages. It opened on August 5 and will run through October 5. There will be a reception and artist talk on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 5 p.m., in the Hines & Riggins Center lobby.

S.C. Tuition Grant
Great news for students from South Carolina! The South Carolina Higher Education Tuition Grants Commission recently voted unanimously to increase the maximum grant from the $4,700 initial amount approved earlier this year to $4,800 for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Dean's List & Honor Roll Spring 2023
Limestone University had a combined 262 students named to either the Dean’s List or the Honor Roll for the spring semester of 2023. A total of 157 students made the Dean’s List, while 105 made the Honor Roll.

It’s been a long and lonely summer for Limestone University’s mascot “Bernie” The Saint Bernard. Since the spring semester ended in May, “Bernie” has found himself alone for months here on campus, waiting for our new and returning Saints to arrive this fall. Moody presented a poster of his research titled “Paranormal Beliefs: Picture vs. Video Influences” during the 19th annual South Carolina Upstate Research Symposium held in March on the campus of USC Upstate in Spartanburg. The No.2-seeded Limestone University men's lacrosse team hosts No.5-seed Lenoir-Rhyne this Sunday, May 21, at 1 p.m. in the NCAA Division II National Championship Semifinals. The winner will advance into the National Title Game on Sunday, May 28, in Philadelphia. Tickets to the semifinal contest at Saints Field against the visiting Bears are now available online. Adult tickets are $5 and student tickets (12-under and college students) are $3 each.

Jazz Fest 23
Limestone University To Host Spring Jazz Fest On April 25 The Limestone University Jazz Ensemble will host the Limestone Spring Jazz Fest on Tuesday, April 25, at 7 p.m., in Fullerton Auditorium. The concert is free, and the public is invited to attend. The joint concert with the Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble will feature classic big band jazz music as well as more contemporary arrangements and compositions. The Limestone Jazz Ensemble is conducted by Spencer Nance, and the Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble is conducted by Dr. Tom Wright. “This is a great opportunity for our students in the Jazz Ensemble to perform with musicians of a high caliber from the area,” Nance said. “It also gives us the opportunity to invite musicians from the community to perform on our beautiful campus.” Established in 1996 under the auspices of the Spartanburg Community Band, the Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble was formed in order to create an opportunity for local musicians to provide quality jazz performances to the public. The Jazz Band performs at events such as Spartanburg’s Spring Fling, Music on Main, Dickens of a Christmas, and for special programs such as the Pan American Games for the Blind. The Jazz Band also performs on its own during the popular “Ice Cream Sundays” Summer Concert Series and the Christmas Festival.
