The Limestone University Art Gallery has announced its latest juried art show, “Makers and Mentors,” featuring the work of local artists from elementary and middle school to graduate school and professionals.

In addition to the exhibit, which runs until January 18, 2024, The Gallery has also announced a reception and award ceremony to soon take place on Friday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m.

The reception will begin in the Hines & Riggins Center lobby for the main exhibit before moving over to the gallery at Granberry Hall for the junior exhibit. Refreshments will be served at both locations. The winners will be selected by major donors and announced during the night.

The Gallery recently sent out a call for submissions, and after closing submissions in October, pieces were selected to be presented at the art show.

Each piece is a celebration of artists who are educators, mentors, and teachers. The artists pulled from their current or previous mentors or inspirations to create the pieces featured in “Makers and Mentors.”
