Limestone University, along with the Cherokee County community, is mourning the loss of Board of Trustees member Tommy E. Martin, who passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, Jan. 8, at the age of 77.

Limestone University recently received a donation of the collected papers, photographs and other media of Ruth Moss Easterling, a 1932 Limestone University alumna and respected leader in the North Carolina General Assembly from 1977 to 2002.

A recent $100,000 gift from Limestone University alum Richard Kepple “Kep” Disney Jr. has established the Saints First Scholarship, an endowed scholarship for first-generation students that is intended to open doors to advancement beyond the boundaries set by their socioeconomic backgrounds. 

Homecoming Schedule 2022
Limestone University is celebrating its 2022 Homecoming with a fun-filled weekend on campus Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24.

Board of Trustees Class of 2027
Five new members were recently elected to the Limestone University Board of Trustees and will serve five-year terms that officially started on July 1.

Jimmy Martin Field Rendering 2022
During a softball alumni event on Sunday, June 26, an architectural rendering of the new Limestone University softball complex was publicly revealed for the first time. As part of the alumni event on Sunday at Fleur Field in Greenville, it was announced that the new home of Limestone softball will be named Jimmy Martin Field in honor of the legendary Saints coach. Martin, who helped take Limestone softball to unprecedented heights as part of a 23-year head coaching career that made him the program's all-time winningest coach, retired from the diamond in 2013.

The Limestone University community was saddened to recently learn of the death of former President Dr. Jack J. Early, who passed away on January 22 at the age of 96.

Annette Reynolds 2020
As a true groundbreaker in the area of racial equality, M.L. Annette Reynolds from the Class of 1970 has the distinction of being the first African-American student and graduate of Limestone. She went on to earn her Maser of Education degree from South Carolina State University.
