The academic programs of Limestone College are conducted within the framework of five divisions: Division of Arts and Letters, Division of Education and Physical Education, Division of Natural Sciences, Division of Professional Studies, and Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The following divisions offer baccalaureate and/or associate degrees. Some majors offer specialized concentrations within a major. Arts and LettersDr. Gena Poovey, Chairperson The Division of Arts and Letters presents an opportunity to study Art, Communications, English, English/Theatre, French, Geography, History, Music, Musical Theatre, Philosophy and Religion, Spanish, and Theatre Arts. Majors are offered in Art, English, English Education, English/Theatre, History, Music, Music Education, Musical Theatre, and, Theatre and various concentrations are offered within some of these majors. Minors are offered in Art, Christian Studies, English, History, Music, and Theatre. Education and Physical EducationDr. Shelly Meyers, Chairperson The Division of Education and Physical Education presents an opportunity to study Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Physical Education.
Natural SciencesMr. Brian Ameling, Chairperson The Division of Natural Sciences presents an opportunity to study Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Science. Majors are offered in Biology Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics in preparation for graduate or professional school programs. Various concentrations are also offered within these disciplines. Minors are offered in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science Internet Management, Computer Science E-Business, Computer Science Software Applications, and Mathematics. It is recommended that students majoring in Biology or Mathematics study a foreign language. Professional StudiesDr. Paul LeFrancois, Chairperson The Division of Professional Studies presents an opportunity to study Business Administration, Economics, Human Resource Management, Athletic Training, and Sports Management. Social and Behavioral SciencesDr. Betsy Witt, Chairperson The Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences presents an opportunity to study Criminal Justice, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, International Studies, and Military Science. Majors are offered in Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Social Work in preparation for careers in these fields or for graduate study. Minors are offered in Criminal Justice, Military Science, and Psychology. It is recommended that students majoring in Social Work study a foreign language. |
