Key Performance Indicators

The Limestone University Board of Trustees are currently developing Key Performance Indicators that will be based on the following:

Monthly

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Attend a minimum of four key stakeholder meetings and events each month.
  • Engage with faculty staff, students, and alumni through regular open forums.

Financial Oversight

  • Review monthly financial reports and ensure adherence to budgetary targets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to the finance team.

Quarterly

Strategic Planning

  • Evaluate progress toward the university’s strategic goals and initiatives on a quarterly basis.
  • Develop a report highlighting achievements, challenges, and adjustments needed.

Community Relations

  • Initiate or support at least 2 community outreach programs or partnerships each quarter.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local businesses, government officials, and community leaders.

Semi-Annually

Leadership Development

  • Conduct a mid-year performance review and goal assessment with the university’s leadership team.
  • Identify professional development opportunities for key personnel.

Fundraiser and Donor Relations

  • Set fundraising targets for the year and evaluate progress at the mid-year point.
  • Strengthen relationships with major donors through personalized communications and events.

Annually

University Reputation Enhancement

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the university’s reputation and standing in the academic community.
  • Monitor key indicators such as research output, faculty achievements, and global rankings.

Diversity and Inclusion

  • Lead the creation of a comprehensive diversity and inclusion plan for the university.
  • Ensure the plan’s execution and monitor progress on an annual basis.

Institutional Growth

  • Set enrollment growth targets and track progress toward meeting or exceeding these targets.
  • Evaluate opportunities for expansion, new programs, or partnerships that align with the university’s mission.

Crisis Management Preparedness

  • Review and update the university’s crisis management plan annually.
  • Conduct at least one crisis simulation exercise to test the effectiveness of the plan.

Timeline

Limestone University’s new President will be selected through an efficient and intensive search process led by the Presidential Search Committee consisting of trustees, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.

October 2023

  • Randall Richardson, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, announces during the full Board of Trustees meeting that Limestone’s Presidential Search will begin. 
  • Dr. Jim Prevost named chair of the search committee.
  • The Presidential Search Committee members and Committee Chair are announced during October 2023 faculty meeting.
  • The Presidential Search Committee selected.

November 2023

  • The Presidential Search Committee is announced to the Board of Trustees.
  • The Department of Communications & Marketing releases the position advertisement to the professional journals of choice.
  • The Search Committee determines the timeline, outreach strategies, priorities, and desired characteristics of a potential President.
  • The Search Committee develops and shares the Presidential position profile.
  • The Department of Communications & Marketing develops Presidential search website and application.
  • Candidate recruitment and identification through advertising, correspondence, and solicitation of nominations and direct recruiting of candidates.
  • Board of Trustees briefed on Presidential Search progress.

December 2023

  • The Presidential Search website and Feedback Survey are launched for campus, alumni, and community stakeholders’ participation. Target date December 1, 2023.
  • The Search Committee is provided access to all resumes and nominations submitted for consideration to date through the secure President Search website.
  • The Search Committee meets to update the search timeline.
  • The Search Committee contacts potential candidates in the search networks that their application has been received by the Search committee.
  • The Search Committee will meet in person to select candidates for first-round interviews.
  • Board of Trustees brief on Presidential Search progress.

January – February 2024

  • The Search Committee continues to receive and review candidate applications.
  • Applicants are contacted to confirm receipt of application materials and respond to questions.
  • Review and update the presidential search timeline.
  • Last day to submit application for president is January 31, 2024.
  • First round interview candidates are selected, vetted, and scheduled for interview.
  • Vetted first-round candidates are announced to the Board of Trustees.
  • The Search Committee conducts first-round interviews.
  • Second-round interview candidates are selected and announced to the Board of Trustees.

March 2024

  • Second-round interviews take place on campus.
  • Finalists are selected, undergo an in-depth background check, and are scheduled for an on campus visit and formal interview.
  • Finalists are recommended to the Board of Trustees for consideration.

April 2024

  • Finalists will visit Limestone for formal interviews and visit with campus leadership, faculty, staff, and University stakeholders. Additionally, finalists will meet with City of Gaffney and Cherokee County government leadership.  
  • Presidential candidate is selected and recommended to the Board of Trustees.
  • Chairman of the Board of Trustees announces the President-Elect.
