Ragtime, jazz, and silent film pianist Ethan Uslan will perform in concert at Limestone College on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

During his performance in Gaffney, Uslan will also provide the music for the 20-minute Charlie Chaplin silent film “East Street.”

Limestone College’s Department of Music will embark on an eight-day choral concert tour of Germany in May of 2018, and there are still opportunities for friends of the College to travel along.

The tour is part of Limestone’s extensive program of celebrations over the next nine months to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.

The trip, being organized by Varna International, will take place May 13-20, 2018, with stops in Berlin, Wittenberg, Leipzig, Erfurt, Eisenach, and Dresden.

Limestone College has announced an extensive program of celebrations in the coming months to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.

It has been 500 years since Martin Luther set the Reformation in motion by nailing his 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg Church in Germany on October 31, 1517.

Limestone College’s Dr. Felicia Cavallini, Professor of Physical Education, is part of a research team that had a manuscript recently published by the Journal of Physical Activity Research.

The research, peer-reviewed article, published earlier this month, is entitled “Introducing MyHouse Activity and MyWork Activity: A Paradigm Shift Towards Lifestyle Physical Activity Supported by Evidence from a Focus Group Study.”

Longtime Gaffney physician and Limestone College benefactor and friend Dr. Preston Edwards touched the lives of countless Cherokee County residents in a life devoted to service.

Edwards, 94, died Sept. 15, just three days short of his 95th birthday.
