CLARY FAMILY PURSUING NAMING RIGHTS TO SAINTS' FOOTBALL PRACTICE FACILITY

Earl Clary - scanAlong with many other families in Gaffney, the Clary family has a rich tradition of football prowess in Cherokee County and across the state of South Carolina.

And now that family plans to invest in new traditions at Limestone College.

A fund-raising effort is underway for the Clary family to secure the naming rights to Limestone’s football practice facility. Limestone will play its inaugural football season this fall, with home games taking place at “The Reservation” stadium at Gaffney High School.

LIMESTONE STUDENTS TAGGING TREES AS PART OF "UPSTATE FOREVER"

In conjunction with Upstate Forever, on Monday, April 14, Limestone Biology Laboratory Coordinator Lauren Barker and some of her students conducted a tree-measuring and tagging event on the front campus. Upstate Forever works to promote sensible growth and to protect special places through education and conservancy efforts, protecting over 16,000 acres of land and water in the Upstate.  Limestone College is the organization’s first site in Cherokee county to tag trees as part of its program to recognize economic value of trees to the community. "COMMUNITY GARDEN CELEBRATION" RESCHEDULED FOR APRIL 24

Limestone College ‘s Community Garden Celebration originally slated for Tuesday, April 15 (today), has been rescheduled due to inclement weather.

The new date for the event is Thursday, April 24. Activities will get underway at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Garden located off Griffith Street just behind the parking lot for Montgomery Hall. The event is open to the public and admission is free. While they last, free concession items from Whole Foods will also be available.
