Limestone University is celebrating its 2022 Homecoming with a fun-filled weekend on campus Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24.
The theme for this year’s Homecoming celebration is "Remember The Time.” Admission to many of the activities are free, but registration is requested. Click HERE to learn more and to register for events.
Homecoming experiences on Friday, Sept. 23, include a Craft Sale by the Art Department inside the Hines & Riggins Center from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; a Homecoming t-shirt giveaway from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the front campus for alumni, students, faculty, and staff; a Homecoming Picnic on the front campus from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.; the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” research symposium from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. inside the Hines & Riggins Center; a Faculty Meet-And-Greet in the Hines at Riggins Center from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.; a women’s soccer game at Saints Field at 6 p.m.; and a men’s soccer game on Saints Field beginning at 8 p.m. Both soccer teams will be taking on Emory & Henry College.
“I Know What You Did Last Summer” will feature Limestone faculty and alumni sharing stories from their summer pursuits. The research symposium will include presenters who will demonstrate how ongoing professional engagement benefits everyone, especially at Limestone.
The Faculty Meet-And-Greet will enable alumni and guests to engage with Limestone’s faculty members for a celebration of the professors who make the University unique. The reception will offer the opportunity for alumni to socialize with the educators who have made a difference in the lives.
On Saturday, Sept. 24, the Homecoming festivities continue with a women’s lacrosse alumni game on Saints Field at 10 a.m. to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the program. That will be followed by a 50th Reunion Luncheon in the Curtis Building Formal Parlors from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Going from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Curtis Building, there will be campus tours taking place. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program will have a 10-year anniversary celebration from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. inside the Hines & Riggins Center.
Capping off the Homecoming activities will be the Limestone football game at Saints Field against UVA Wise that starts at 7 p.m. A fireworks show will take place immediately after the game. The contest will mark the first-ever home football game for the Saints on campus, after hosting games at Gaffney High’s stadium for the first eight years of the program. Ticket and parking sales information will be announced in the near future for all of Limestone’s home football games on campus this season.
In addition to the events on September 23-24, there will be a full week of activities on campus for Limestone students to participate in as part of the Homecoming celebration.
