LIMESTONE UNIVERSITY CLOSED TUESDAY, JAN. 9: Due To Potential For Severe Weather

Out of an abundance of caution, Limestone University officials, in cooperation with Limestone’s Campus Safety Department, have made the decision to close the campus on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, due to the potential for severe weather in our area.

All Limestone University classes are cancelled for Tuesday. Students should check their emails and/or Canvas for any potential communications from their professors.

All Limestone University faculty and staff offices will be closed on Tuesday.

Limestone’s essential personnel should check with their respective supervisors regarding potential duties that might be necessary on Tuesday.

Students are asked to check their campus email for additional information regarding safety precautions on Tuesday. 

Students living on campus should prepare for severe weather expected to impact the state of South Carolina on Tuesday. Forecasters with the National Weather Service are predicting widespread damaging winds and the possibility of tornadoes, heavy rains, and flash flooding.

High winds could bring down trees and power lines. A Wind Advisory has been issued for our area on Tuesday. A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph or greater are expected.
