Limestone College Physical Education Center Named in Honor of President Griffin
During a special dedication ceremony on Friday, Oct. 23rd, Limestone College's Physical Education Center was officially named the Walt Griffin Physical Education Center in honor of the college's president.
Limestone's Board of Trustees voted unanimously to rename the building for Griffin, who has served the college as president since 1992. "As a Board, we wanted to distinguish his tenure, which has been grounded in character and integrity, and marked by thoughtful and insightful leadership," said Lyman Hamrick, who served as Chair of the Board from 2005-2009. "Under President Griffin, Limestone has tripled its enrollment, balanced its budget for 17 successive years, doubled the size of its sports program, increased the number of terminally degreed faculty to all-time high and successfully renovated 10 campus buildings."
