New Campaign Designed To Honor Longtime Coach

Jimmy Martin PhotoFor the last 23 years, the name Jimmy Martin has been synonymous with Limestone College softball.
 
Now, a fundraising campaign hopes to keep his name there a lot longer.
 
The “Fight Like Jimmy” campaign has been organized by former Limestone player Niki Midgett with the goal of raising enough money to name the new college softball field after the winningest coach in Limestone history.
 
Martin, who retired last month as head coach of the Saints, suffered a stroke while on vacation in Myrtle Beach in July of 2012.

Music School Enrollment Now Open

CMS Recital - Students and Faculty - 2013GAFFNEY, SC – For Cherokee County parents who wish to enrich the lives of their children through music, long drives for lessons in neighboring counties are no longer necessary.

This marks the fourth year that the Community Music School at Limestone College is offering quality music instruction to students of all ages.  The program offers private lessons in piano, brass, percussion, woodwinds, guitar, drumming, and voice.  Lessons are available from members of the Limestone music faculty as well as upper class music students at Limestone.

Fall 2013 Convocation

 

 

 

 

 




GAFFNEY, SC – An overflow crowd gathered at Fullerton Auditorium on Thursday, Aug. 29, as Limestone College president Dr. Walt Griffin, during his annual Convocation, welcomed students to campus for the 2013-2014 school year.

There was not an empty seat to be found as Dr. Griffin announced record enrollment figures during the event that also recognized new faculty members and the achievements of students and athletic teams from the previous year.

Dr. Griffin noted that Limestone currently has a record total of 1,030 day students, which is a 16 percent increase over a year ago.  Of those, 500 are a combination of freshmen and new transfers.
