GRAPHIC - Homecoming 2013Limestone College alumni will have the chance to reconnect with friends and take a stroll down memory lane this weekend, Oct. 4-5, as the Homecoming celebration comes to the Gaffney campus.

The annual event will bring together the entire community of alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends for a celebration packed with activities – including sporting events, the Athletics Hall of Fame Induction, a campus-wide picnic, the annual Saints Club Golf Tournament, and more.

LIMESTONE'S "EMPTY BOWLS PROJECT" TO HELP FEED THE HUNGRY IN CHEROKEE COUNTY

PHOTO - Empty Bowls 2There are residents across Cherokee County who are going to bed hungry each night, and Limestone College has initiated a program to help change that.

Limestone’s “Empty Bowls Project” is raising money to feed the hungry and to bring awareness to this problem in its home community.

“Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger,” said Limestone art department chairperson Carolyn Ford, who is heading the effort on campus. “Potters and other craftspeople, educators, and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. LIMESTONE COLLEGE TO HOST SCATE CONFERENCE SEPT. 27-28

LOGO - SCATE ConferenceThe annual conference for the South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators will take place at Limestone College on Friday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 28.

 
Dr. Shelly A. Meyers, Limestone’s Director of Teacher Education, and Associate Professor of Elementary Education, is serving as the chairperson of the SCATE Conference. At the conclusion of the two-day event, Meyers will begin her term as president of the association.
