We understand the needs of military students. Our programs are flexible and affordable. Transfer credits are accepted including credit for MOS & Military Schooling. Online classes will help you earn your degree while you serve oversees. Limestone College values our Military and VA students, we appreciate your service, and we are here to assist you in any way possible.

Limestone College has been chosen as a Military-Friendly School and is a member of Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOCAD, SOCGuard, and SOCCoast), a consortium of over 1500 institutions pledged to be reasonable in working with servicemembers trying to earn degrees while pursuing demanding transient careers. As a SOC member, we help service members avoid duplication of credit, are reasonable in accepting transfer courses, and fairly judge credit from nontraditional sources such as testing and military training. Additionally, we prepare a SOC Student Agreement degree plan when service members are accepted and participate in course transfer guarantees of network systems under the SOCAD, SOCCoast, and SOCGUARD programs. We are also partners with College of the American Soldier.

  • Business Administration

    In this program you will learn to plan, supervise and evaluate the functions of a business such as production, marketing, finance, human resources, and administration. You will build a knowledge base with which to acquire the skills of supervision and procurement, control and utilization of resources in an efficient manner; and the ability to adapt the goals and policies of an organization to internal and external opportunities and constraints. You will develop your oral and written communication skills, your ability to solve problems and make judgments through the analysis and synthesis of data, and your understanding of the moral and ethical considerations of decision making. Limestone College offers several concentrations relating to Business Administration including Accounting, Computer Science Programming, Computer Science Software Applications, and Management.

  • Computer Programming

    The Computer Science and Information Technology Department at Limestone College offers a concentration in Programming for those students interested in a programming career. The department provides the students with current programming tools that help them develop the skills necessary to succeed in graduate school as well as in their future professions. The programming concentration also challenges students to think creatively and craft unique solutions to many programming problems. Development of these skills will lead to greater success in a professional career or in an educational environment. With small class sizes, dedicated instructors, and current technology, the CSIT Department at Limestone College will help students reach their full potential.

  • Computer Science/Information Technology

    Professionals who work in today's technology arena need the skills to successfully manage information resources. Whether the customers of an organization are internal or external, their needs must be met and, in most cases, the bulk of the responsibility lies on the shoulders of information technologists. Students preparing for the "real world" need to know what is expected of them and how they can succeed. Information technology is both strategic and tactical and requires strong skills in many areas. The IT concentration focuses on the fundamental principles and practices necessary for practitioners to succeed in modern information-centric organizations. The student will explore how information systems are used in business, and, more importantly, how the role of information systems has grown as a result of the telecommunications revolution. The concentration builds an unparalleled foundation for tomorrow's IT managers by providing meaningful examples of real projects and applying the lessons they teach to a sound framework in IT management.   • Criminal Justice

    Criminal Justice is a popular degree program at Limestone College. You will learn about the causes and dimensions of crime and delinquency and about the characteristics and behaviors of criminals. You will also study the American criminal justice system: the operation of criminal courts and the theories and procedure of law enforcement. This program will prepare you in the areas of law enforcement, security services, probation, corrections, parole, and rehabilitation.

  • Health Care Administration

    The Limestone Health Care Administration program prepares those anticipating a career in administrative positions within the health care industry. This program is ideal for students interested in management and administration as well as contributing to the well-being of others. The major combines courses from a number of academic fields especially designed to prepare students for health care careers. Students are exposed to all areas of health care administration, including health care policy, health care quality, finance, legal issues, information systems, and economics as they impact the delivery of health care.

  • Human Resource Management

    In this program, you will learn to manage the development of employees in organizations, and to provide related services to individuals and groups. You will study personnel and organizational policy, human resource dynamics and flows, labor relations, sex roles, civil rights, and human resources law and regulations. You will also learn about motivation and compensation systems, career management, employee testing and assessment, recruitment and selection, job training programs, and the management of human resources programs and operations. An internship may increase your chances of finding a job in this field.

  • Liberal Studies

    Many new professional opportunities require college preparation of a broad and extensive scope. A chance to design an academic program appropriate to a student’s special career or professional goal is provided in the Liberal Studies program. You will learn from various courses of study, including mathematics, biological and physical sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. The program generally is interdisciplinary, with courses being offered through various departments or divisions of the College. This program is available for students who desire or require more flexibility than is available in other major programs.

    Graduates from this major may find work in fields such as journalism, publishing, business, government, and entertainment. This degree program provides the opportunity to learn about different fields and preparation for professional or specialized graduate school. A liberal studies degree offers a well-rounded education. Almost any entry level position is available.

  • Psychology

    This broad major is intended to orient you to psychology as a whole. You will learn about the science of mind and behavior, individual and group behavior, the physical and environmental bases of behavior, and the analysis and treatment of behavior problems and disorders. This major relies heavily on exploring various theories, while looking at new research and techniques. It is designed to instruct you in psychological principles and methods; to provide the knowledge and skills required at the graduate level; and to offer the background needed to prepare you for work in possible professions as diverse as medicine, law, business, education, human resources, and others. Several specialties in psychology encourage certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology.

    Leaders aren’t born, they are groomed in the field, and the classroom. An MBA from Limestone College will allow you to continue to serve our country from anywhere, while pursuing your MBA online and on your schedule. Our program provides you the additional leadership & management skills learned through hands-on experiences. By working in a team environment you will continue to develop decision-making, motivational techniques, and in-depth problem solving attributes.

    Tuition assistance may be available to you through your VA Office, and we offer a $ 100 per credit hour tuition discount for active duty military & reservist. We currently have members from 4 of the 5 branches of the Armed Forces enrolled in our program.

Discounts and Assistance

Limestone College offers active military personnel a discount close to one-half the regular tuition rate for associate and bachelor degree programs. This includes all military organizations, Active Duty, Reserves, and National Guard. Active duty military personnel can receive a $100 discount per credit hour on MBA tuition.

Military and Veteran Admissions

Here's how to get started:
  • Step 1

    Decide if you will be a traditional day student, an evening student, or an Internet student, then complete the appropriate Limestone College Online Admissions Application.

    When applying, be sure to send all previous college transcripts, as well as any military training transcripts to the Internet/Evening or Day Program Office of Admissions:

  • Step 2

    Apply for your VA benefits by completing the 22-1990 Veterans Online Application located here via the US Department of Veteran's Affairs website. If you are a spouse or dependent and need to apply for benefits, you should complete the 22-5490 form.

    The VA requests 30-45 business days (5-9 calendar weeks) to process an application. In some cases processing may take longer, so be sure to apply as early as possible. Applications can be submitted to the VA before a student is officially admitted to Limestone College.

    Once you've submitted this application, save a copy to send to Limestone College.

  • Step 3

    If you are transferring from another institution where you previously used your benefits, please complete the 22-1995 Change of Place, Training, or Major form located at www.va.gov. If you are a spouse or dependent transferring from another institution where you used your benefits, you should complete the 22-5495 form.

    If you have a Notice of Basic Eligibility or Certificate of Eligibility, please send a copy to Limestone College.

Military and Veteran Benefits

Limestone College is approved for all college-related veterans' educational programs and maintains a Veterans' Coordinator to help with VA-related matters.

  • Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33)

    An education benefit program for individuals who served on active duty after September 10, 2001. You may be eligible if you served at least 90 aggregate days on active duty* after September 10, 2001, or were honorably discharged from active duty for a service-connected disability after serving 30 continuous days following September 10, 2001.

  • Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty (Chapter 30)

    Provides education benefits to Veterans and Servicemembers who have at least two years of active duty. Benefits are generally payable for 10 years following your release from honorable active service.

  • Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve (Chapter 1606)

    Provides education and training benefits for Reservists with a six-year obligation in the Selected Reserve who are actively drilling. Eligibility for this program is determined by the Selected Reserve components and VA makes the payments.

  • REAP (Reserve Educational Assistance Program—Chapter 1607)

    Provides educational assistance to members of the Reserve components called or ordered to active duty in response to a war or national emergency declared by the President or Congress.

  • DEAP (Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program—Chapter 35)

    Offers education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of Veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or of Veterans who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition.

  • Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Chapter 31)

    Extends vocational rehabilitation benefits for 12 months for Veterans who’ve completed the VA vocational rehabilitation program and have run out of initial unemployment benefits.

    Extends vocational rehabilitation benefits for 12 months for Veterans who’ve completed the VA vocational rehabilitation program and have run out of initial unemployment benefits.

  • Yellow Ribbon Program

    Degree-granting institutions of higher learning participating in the Post-9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program agree to make additional funds available for your education program without an additional charge to your GI Bill entitlement. These institutions voluntarily enter into a Yellow Ribbon Agreement with VA and choose the amount of tuition and fees that will be contributed. VA matches that amount and issues payments directly to the institution.
