How long will it take to get my degree with the Online and Evening program?

The time it takes to complete your degree depends on several factors. Once you have been accepted to Limestone, your Advisor can help you map out a plan with a timeline to finish your degree. 1. If you have previously attended another college, you may transfer up to 66 semester hours from regionally accredited two-year colleges and up to 92 hours from regionally accredited four-year colleges to pursue a Bachelor’s degree. 2. In addition, students may earn credit by taking nationally developed examinations or by Limestone College developed tests. Limestone College accepts credit based on the Advanced Placement Exams (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), and Defense Activity for NonTraditional Education Support (DANTES) Subject Standardized Test (DSST). 3. You must obtain a passing score on these tests as recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE). A maximum of twenty-five percent (25%) of all degree requirements may be earned by credit through examination. Evening and Classroom program students can normally complete 36 credits a year. A Bachelor’s degree requires a minimum of 123 credit hours and an Associate’s Degree requires a minimum of 31 credit hours.

I’ve never taken a class online. What is it like?

Courses in the Internet program have the same content as the traditional classroom courses. The only difference is that the course material is delivered within a virtual learning environment called Blackboard. All of the information for the course – lectures, assignments, discussions, exams and more - is housed in the online learning system. Once you have enrolled in an online class, you will receive Blackboard training and your log-in information.
In online courses, there are no specific times that the student must be online, but normally the professor will have specific “office hours” available for discussion with students. The student will be required to take online exams with a proctor who is approved by the College.
