Limestone College is inviting students, alumni, and community members to a grand reopening celebration of its Charleston site on Thursday, March 23.

The celebration will showcase improvements to Limestone’s existing site in Charleston. The renovations, however, did not disrupt the site’s services to Limestone’s students in that area

The Limestone College football team’s “Blue & White” spring game will get underway at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, at The Reservation stadium at Gaffney High School.

Admission and parking are free, and the community is encouraged to come out and take a sneak peek at the 2017 edition of the Saints.

The art world’s loss was the space program’s gain when Carly Meginnis decided in middle school that she wanted to be an engineer.

Meginnis is a 30-year-old Philadelphia native who is now a Technology Development Engineer for the Crew and Thermal Systems Division at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston where she specializes in the development of advanced technology for space suit design.

Athletics Department officials have announced that fundraising for a $1.2 million project is in its final stages and construction is scheduled to begin as soon as the final dollars are raised.

Limestone College will host back-to-back Women In Technology & Sciences (WITS) Conferences on Thursday, March 16, and Friday, March 17, from 9 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. each day.

The guest speaker at each day’s luncheon will be Carly Meginnis (seen in accompanying photo), Technology Development Engineer, Crew and Thermal Systems Division at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. Meginnis specializes in the development of advanced technology for space suit design.

A production of the musical comedy “Company” will have a three-night run at Limestone College Theatre on March 2-4. Show-time each day is at 7:30 p.m.

Advance tickets are available at Adult tickets are $12 each, while those 65-over and non-Limestone students (with ID) are $8 each. Limestone students, faculty and staff are admitted free. Tickets will be available at the door starting one hour before each performance. This production is intended for mature audiences.

Limestone College Theatre is located at 130 Leadmine Street in Gaffney.

The Limestone College Department of Theatre recently had several of its students recognized at the Region IV Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival at Georgia Southern University in Greensboro, Ga. 

Twenty Limestone students participated in the festival and eight were selected to compete in the Irene Ryan Scholarship Competition. A panel of invited judges selected the students based on their works in recent Limestone College productions.
