AUSTIN, TEXAS - Limestone College seniors Gui Machado (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Nestor Aguilar (Jaen, Spain) were both named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America Men's Soccer Division II Team as announced on Monday, November 21.

Both seniors earned first team honors, becoming the second and third student-athletes in Limestone men's soccer history to accomplish that feat. The Saints have now featured a total of five players on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team since 2008.

Machado, a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American after picking up second team accolades a season ago, helped guide the nation's fifth-ranked offense during the 2016 campaign, finishing with 18 goals and two assists for 38 points. He will finish in the NCAA Division II top 10 in goals scored.

An All-Conference Carolinas and a D2CCA All-Southeast Region selection this season, Machado was named Conference Carolinas Scholar Athlete of the Year as a junior and is a two-time Academic All-Conference Carolinas honoree. He is triple majoring in Marketing, Management, and Sport Management.

Aguilar earned Academic All-American honors for the first time in his career after previously being named CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-Conference during his senior campaign. The Physical Education major has been selected to the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll in each semester at Limestone.

He helped guide a defensive backfield that registered nine shutouts during the 2016 season, and finished with two goals and three assists on offense. Aguilar picked up All-Conference Carolinas first team and D2CCA All-Southeast Region first team accolades as a senior.
