Introduction to Linear Algebra
An introduction to linear algebra in the context of finite dimensional real vector spaces for application in other disciplines. Coverage includes systems of linear equations and matrix algebra, Gaussian elimination, determinants, linear independence, bases, dimension, linear transformations, eigenvectors, eigenvalues, eigenspaces, similarity, and orthogonality. Prerequisite: Mathematics 205 with a grade of “C” or better or permission of the instructor. (Offered in Spring of even years) Credit, 3 hours.
