|LIMESTONE WELCOMES NEW BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBERS|
When the Limestone College Board of Trustees gather together later this month, several new members and new senior members will be sitting around the table.
The new members’ terms started on July 1, and the next meeting of the Board of Trustees is set for Friday, Oct. 25, at Limestone’s main campus in Gaffney, South Carolina.
Duane Hoover of Atlanta is the President of Hoover Investments. He and his wife, Drada, have been major benefactors of Limestone, providing strong support for the restoration of the Winnie Davis Hall of History and ongoing support for the Christian Education and Leadership Program. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech, with a degree in engineering, and he and his wife, Drada (a former Limestone College trustee), live in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Jon Jensen of Spartanburg returns as a trustee after serving earlier from 2002 to 2007. He has been a longtime supporter of Limestone. He is President of Correll Insurance Group and has been honored by the Independent Insurance Agents of South Carolina for his outstanding community service and his contributions to his profession. He studied at Pasco Hernando Community College in Florida and at Appalachian State University in North Carolina.
Eugene Moorhead, a native of Gaffney and 1962 Limestone graduate, with a major in both mathematics and chemistry, is also a graduate of Clemson University with a major in ceramic engineering. He has held a number of positions in teaching, coaching, and engineering and he had major assignments in sales and marketing with US and international companies, including Dow Chemical. He retired from Dow in 1985 after 20 years. He and his wife, the former Barbara (Babs) Hamrick, reside in Gaffney.
Frances McCachern Page is a 1970 graduate of Limestone College and is head of the Department of Communication and the Performing Arts at Meredith College. She serves Meredith as Coordinator of Music Education. After graduating from Limestone, she received both her master’s and doctorate in music education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is recognized for her expertise as a children’s choral specialist. She and her husband, Troy, reside in Cary, North Carolina.
Randall Richardson is CEO and Managing Principal of Alpha Healthcare Systems, in Asheville, North Carolina. He co-founded the management consulting firm that addresses the growing demand for healthcare reform through improving operational efficiency for small and medium sized healthcare providers. He is a graduate of Montreat College and the Duke University Fuqua School of Business where he earned an MBA. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He and his wife, Fanaye, reside in Fletcher, North Carolina.
William L. Smith II is a partner in the law firm Chappell, Smith and Arden in Columbia. He is a native of Gaffney and summa cum laude graduate of Limestone College, class of 1981. He earned the juris doctorate at the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1984. He served an earlier term on the Board of Trustees at Limestone from 2008 to 2011. His parents and a sister live in Gaffney, and his daughter Ansley is a recent graduate of Limestone and is now assistant women’s golf coach at her alma mater. He and his wife, Debbie, reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
John B. Travers of Gaffney returns to the Board as a Senior Trustee. Previously, his service on the board and his leadership in the community were acknowledged when Limestone awarded him an honorary doctorate of public service. In 2012, he and his wife, Ruby, were recognized as the College’s Philanthropists of the Year. He is a retired General Manager of the Timken Company, a graduate of the Ohio State University with both Bachelor of Science and MBA degrees.
These Limestone College Trustees will each serve for a period of five years, ending in 2018. Additionally, two trustees whose terms expired at the end of June have moved into senior trustee status. They are Sara J. Eddins and J. Grady Randolph.
Sara J. Eddins is an alumna, Class of 1960, who is a retired USC-Lancaster mathematics instructor. She is presently active in the real estate business and is the owner of Eddins Properties. Her previous service on the Limestone Board of Trustees was from 2008 to 2013. She and her husband, Mack, live in Lancaster, South Carolina.
J. Grady Randolph will continue to serve Limestone in a senior status, having previously served two five-year terms on the Board of Trustees. He is a native of Gaffney and graduate of Gaffney High School and is retired as President of J. Grady Randolph, Inc. He and his wife, Mary, reside in Gaffney.
Limestone College is a four-year, liberal arts institution that was established in 1845. Limestone offers bachelor of arts, bachelor of fine arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of social work, associate of arts, associate of science, and master of business administration degrees through traditional and non-traditional educational opportunities.
