Washington MonthlyLimestone College recently entered into a partnership agreement with Williamsburg Technical College, and Washington Monthly has released its 2013 Community College Rankings and the magazine slotted WTC as the 19th-best in the country.

The Kingstree, SC, school was the only community college in South Carolina to be ranked on the list of 50 schools.

Williamsburg Tech has realized record growth in fall enrollment this year with an almost 25 percent increase.

The college has several off-campus courses being offered this fall, and the current semester will also be the first of a partnership with Limestone College. The joint venture will allow students to seek the second half of a baccalaureate degree on the WTC campus.

The Washington Monthly rankings are based on best practices and student success through measurements in eight areas: active and collaborative learning; student effort; academic challenge; student-faculty interaction; support for learning; first-year retention rate; three-year graduation/retention rate; and credentials awarded per 100 full-time enrollment (FTE) students.

Just last week, Limestone College was named as one of the best regional colleges by US News and World Reports.

A small, private liberal arts institution based in Gaffney, SC, Limestone College is listed as the 56th best regional college in the South, according to the report.
