"In this production, there are two scenes in the play that have the audience serving as members of the 151st Army Infantry Division," explains Dave Rilling, Vice President for Financial Affairs and retired U.S. Marine. "The first occasion is on Christmas Eve 1944 as the Commanding General addresses his troops before being transferred back to the states for medical treatment. The second is on Christmas Eve 1954 when the division's veterans gather at an Inn in Vermont to honor their former commander. The College would encourage active duty military personnel to be in uniform when attending the play so they could be honored for their present service."
Also of interest is the family makeup of the cast which includes sisters Jena (a Limestone student) and Jade Alford, the Jamie Grindstaff family (Jamie, Sally, and Leila), Dale and Emmitt Lee (father and son), and Dr. David and Sharon Thompson (husband and wife).
A Tony Award nominated hit musical, Irving Berlin's White Christmas: The Musical tells the story of two showbiz buddies putting on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn, and finding their perfect mates in the process. Full of dancing, romance, laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written, including "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," "Happy Holiday," "Sisters," "Blue Skies," and the unforgettable title song, Irving Berlin's White Christmas: The Musical promises to be a merry and bright experience for the entire family!
