REMINDER: "Ghost Sonata" To Be Performed At Limestone Theatre March 14-16

Limestone College’s Department of Theatre will present “The Ghost Sonata” during a three-night run March 14-16.

Show time each day at Limestone Theatre, located at 130 Leadmine Street in Gaffney, is 7:30 p.m.

The Expressionist play from 1907 by Swedish playwright August Strindberg centers around the supernatural, past crimes and the guilt that comes with them, deception, and societal masks. The Ghost Sonata relates the adventures of a young student, who idealizes the lives of the inhabitants of a stylish apartment building in Stockholm. He makes the acquaintance of the mysterious Jacob Hummel, who helps him to find his way into the apartment, only to find that it is a nest of betrayal and sickness. The world, the student learns, is hell and human beings must suffer to achieve salvation. The play centers on a family of strangers who meet for the sake of meeting.

Dr. Tim Baxter-Ferguson is serving as the Director and Vandy Scoates is the Set Designer.

Advance tickets are available through www.TicketLeap.com. Adult tickets are $8 each, while student and senior citizen tickets are $6 each. Limestone faculty, staff, and students will be admitted for free. Tickets will also be available at the box office prior to each performance.
