For the second consecutive year, Limestone University has been designated as a “Military Friendly® School” by Viqtory Media.

The 2023-2024 academic year listing showcases the top colleges, universities, and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success. Viqtory Media is considered a leader in successfully connecting the military and civilian worlds. The Military Friendly® Schools survey is the longest-running and most comprehensive review of college and university investments in serving military and veteran students.

The designation provides service members and their families with transparent, data-driven ratings about post-military education and career opportunities. Earning the Silver Award for 2023-2024, Limestone has also earned Military Friendly status several times in the past.

“Limestone has made serving our military and veteran students a priority,” said the University’s Director of Military Services Christina Lievsay. “We are extremely proud to be recognized once again as a Military Friendly School. Whether on-campus or through our Online Program, we value our military veteran students, we appreciate their service, and we are here to assist them in any way possible.”

Limestone’s Military Service Center is staffed by prior service members who understand the unique challenges of military and veteran students, Lievsay added.

Military and veteran students can receive transfer credit from military transcripts based on the America Council on Education (ACE) guide recommendations. Limestone’s online program also offers a military discount for undergraduate degrees. Service members may qualify who are Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserve Members. The same service members can receive a $100 per credit hour discount for our Graduate Program.

In addition to military tuition discounts, Limestone also looks to maximize military education benefits, including the GI Bill®, Military Tuition Assistance, and financial aid.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® Schools Awards designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey, 530 schools earned awards level designations in Gold, Silver, and Bronze. 250 were selected for “Gold” award status for their leading practices, outcomes, and effective programs. The 2023-2024 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in G.I. Jobs magazine’s May issue.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in higher education. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey responses and government/agency public data sources within a logic-based assessment. We measure their ability to meet thresholds for Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Repayment, Persistence, and Loan Default rates for all students and specifically, for student veterans.
