Limestone University has announced a new partnership with SC Endeavors, one that will provide scholarship opportunities for students who want to pursue a career in education and childcare.

Early Childhood Education majors at Limestone can now apply for the T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Help) Early Childhood Scholarship, which aims to help students who are working professionally with children while pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

"This partnership is another step in strengthening the pipeline of educator talent for our local schools and childcare centers,” said Dr. Shelly Meyers, Limestone’s Dean of the College of Education & Health Professions. “Many of our community college partners also participate in this program. Limestone now has another way to support students who transfer from those institutions into our Early Childhood program.”

In order to be eligible for scholarship, the student must currently work 30 or more hours a week at a child-care facility that is licensed and registered through the South Carolina Department of Social Services. Additionally, the student must have utilized all financial aid and loan opportunities available to them at their respective college or university before applying to the program.

More information on eligibility can be found HERE on the SC Endeavors’ website.

Meyers commended former Early Childhood Program Coordinator Dr. Tammy Quick, citing her initiative and labor as pivotal in the partnership between Limestone and SC Endeavors.
