Limestone University Fall Wind Ensemble Concert Scheduled For December 9

The Limestone University Wind Ensemble will be performing its fall concert on Thursday, Dec. 9, at 6:30 p.m., in Fullerton Auditorium.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The program will consist of “A Pioneer's Journey” by Marcus Grant, “Chorale” and “Shaker Dance” by John Zdechlik, soundtrack highlights from “Les Misérables” arranged by Jay Bocook, “Star Ship” by Yukiko Nishimura, “Third Suite” by Robert Jager, “Tirana” by Carol Barnett, and “Solo Una Volta!” by Yasuhide Ito.

Limestone’s wind ensemble encompasses some of the finest musicians from the Department of Music and across the campus, with numerous majors being represented, to perform wind band literature and transcriptions. The ensemble utilizes performers within the music faculty, performers within the ensemble, and guest conductors as a part of the programming.

In addition to commissioning and premiering new works, the ensemble regularly features faculty artists and tours nationally and internationally.
