Limestone University Commencement Address: Dr. Brian Ameling

Brian Ameling Commencement Speech

Provost Dr. Brian Ameling delivered the commencement address at Limestone University’s two graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 3. Below are his heartfelt remarks shared with the Class of 2025.

What an incredible honor it is to stand before you today, on this momentous occasion, as we celebrate the remarkable Class of 2025.

To our graduates -- you did it.

And not only did you do it, you did it with heart, with courage, and with an unwavering commitment to excellence.

You are a class unlike any other.

You’ve overcome obstacles that no one could have predicted. You’ve stood tall in the face of uncertainty. And through it all, the legacy you leave behind will resonate in the spirit and story of Limestone University for generations to come.

You’ve made your mark -- not just through your academic achievements, but through your leadership, your service, your advocacy, and your resilience.

Whether you were winning championships, leading student organizations, excelling in your academic field, or simply showing up for your peers in quiet, powerful ways -- you have shaped this campus.

You have shaped each other. And you have shaped Limestone.

This University is better because you were here.

I hope you leave Limestone knowing that you are not defined by your circumstances, but by how you rise above them. The Class of 2025 rose higher than anyone could have imagined. You have shown us what it means to be Saints Strong -- to lead with integrity, to learn with passion, and to love this community with everything you’ve got.

You now join a legacy that stretches back 179 years, but more importantly, you carry it forward.

Wherever you go next -- graduate school, the workforce, the military, public service –please remember that Limestone is part of your story, and you are forever a part of ours.

So go forward with confidence. Go forward with courage. And go forward knowing that the legacy you leave behind here is one of strength, hope, and determination.

Congratulations, Class of 2025. You have made us proud. Now go make the world proud, too.

Thank you, and God bless.
