Limestone University’s esports program got its Spring 2022 schedules underway in February and will continue to compete through the end of April.

The Saints, who are members of the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC), are competing in Rocket League, League of Legends, and Valorant.

As of earlier this week, Limestone was 4-1 in Rocket League play, 2-4 in League of Legends, and 1-4 in Valorant.

“Our Rocket League team is looking like it will be Limestone’s first very dominant roster,” said Saints’ head coach Zach Lewis. “Our League of Legends squad is brand new, but it is playing well considering the short time the players have been together. Despite its record, our Valorant team has brought every game to an overtime ending. With an entire month of competition remaining, we’re very pleased with how our players and our teams are competing. The future is definitely bright for Limestone esports.”

Along with competitive varsity and junior varsity squads, Limestone offers a recreational gaming club that has access to the University’s state-of-the-art gaming lab and lounge.

Lewis, a former esports player and coach at the Oklahoma State University, was hired in 2020 to develop and coach Limestone’s new program.
