Limestone alum Keasha Currence is currently the head coach of the University’s dance team – known as the Fleurettes.

During her time as a student, she was a part of the dance team and was voted Miss Limestone College in 2016. She also received the Miss South Carolina Spirit Award for her community service efforts in Gaffney.

"I love the small knit community, the beautiful campus, and how passionate the faculty and staff are,” she explained about her time as a Limestone student and now as a staff member.

Currence graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, with a minor in studio art.

In addition of her duties at Limestone, she is the owner of a small home décor business, "Lemon Meringue," that has been operating for the past three years.

"Black History Month for me is a celebration of my ancestors and African-Americans. It is also about the strive for greatness and excellence,” she said when asked about what Black History Month means to her.

She attributes her inspiration within the black community to Reverend Antoinette Gardner Frazier, her mentor during her time as Miss Limestone. "Her encouragement, love, and direction has not only changed my life, but so many lives in the Gaffney community. I carry her spirit and energy with me every day."
