Limestone Students Completing 2020 Census Have Chance To Win Special Prizes

Limestone College students who complete the 2020 Census might just win some special prizes!

Limestone students should complete their own Census based on where they would have been on April 1, 2020. Those Limestone students who returned home for remote instruction due to the COVID-19 health crises can still fill out the census using their mailing addresses in Cherokee County.

Students who would have been living in an on-campus residence hall should be counted at their dorm addresses. Those who live in off-campus housing should be counted at the address where they live in and around Gaffney and Cherokee County. Students who live with their parents/guardians should be counted at their parent/guardian addresses. International students living and attending college in the United States should be counted at their on- or off-campus addresses.

The Cherokee County 2020 Census organizers want to make sure that Limestone’s residential students are counted correctly, because it will impact Cherokee County’s official population for the next 10 years.

Once Limestone students have completed the Census online, via the telephone, or with their paper forms, they can email their name and Cheorkee County address associated with the Census to: cherokeecensus@gmail.com.

Organizers are now randomly drawing a name every four days to receive a $25 gift card to Walmart. At the end of Census season, they draw for the three grand prizes... a pair of Apple Air Pods, an Apple iPad, or a flat-screen television. Only one entry is permitted per household. The address must be in Cherokee County, SC. The students’ personal information will remain confidential and will not be shared, the local organizers noted.
