Congratulations to the Limestone College Class of 2017!

We are so proud of you!

Below is a reminder about the graduation ceremonies taking place Dec. 14-16.

With the fall semester coming to a close, Limestone College will soon hold three commencement exercises at Fullerton Auditorium.

Limestone will confer a total of 322 degrees during those graduations planned for December 14-16. Board of Trustees Chairman Randy Hines will welcome graduates, family members, and guests each day.

The 77 Day Program students will graduate Thursday, Dec. 14, at 4 p.m. A luncheon at Stephenson Dining Hall will be held for those graduates at 12 noon, and following a 1:30 p.m. rehearsal, Limestone president Dr. Walt Griffin will host a reception in their honor at 2:30 p.m. at the Curtis Administration Building. The commencement speaker on Thursday will be Gene Moorhead, a member of the Limestone College Board of Trustees and a retired engineer with The Dow Chemical Company.

At Thursday’s ceremony, Griffin will be granted status of President Emeritus by the Board of Trustees. At the end of December, Griffin will be retiring after serving for 25 years as Limestone’s President. Under Dr. Griffin’s leadership, over 10,000 students have graduated from the College.

Also on Thursday, Nani Lou Self Cooper will be presented with an honorary degree of Doctor of Public Service. Cooper is retiring after 50 years of service to Limestone. Previously serving in a number of other roles, she has served as the Administrative Assistant to the President’s Office since 1979.

Dr. Barbara Rogers, who retired in June of this year after 11 years of service, will be granted on Thursday with the status of Associate Professor Emerita of Business Administration.

Graduation for the 117 Online & Evening Classroom students will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15. Those graduates will enjoy a brunch at 10:30 a.m., followed by a campus tour by Dr. Griffin at 12 noon. Following a 1:30 p.m. rehearsal, Dr. Griffin’s reception in their honor will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Friday’s commencement address will be delivered by Dr. Patricia Hoskins, Associate Professor of History/College Historian and Chair of the Department of History of Geography.

Louie V. Hinson, who retired earlier this year after 15 years of service, will be granted on Friday with the status of Preceptor Emeritus of Social Work.

The 108 Online & Evening Internet and 20 MBA program students will graduate on Saturday, Dec. 16, and will follow the same schedule as the Online & Evening classroom students. MBA graduates will have a reception at 2:30 p.m. inside Winnie Davis Hall of History. Saturday’s commencement speaker will be Dr. Andrew Cook, Professor of Business Administration.
