Global Experience

There’s no telling where in the world a Limestone College education will soon be taking students from the historic liberal arts institution. Limestone officials have unveiled plans for a new “Global Experience” that will be sending undergraduate Day Campus students to some of the most iconic locations in the world, starting with the 2019-2020 academic year. Although exact destinations have yet to be finalized, students will likely travel to such cities as Paris, Rome, London, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing, and Jerusalem, just to name a few.

Mary Willis

Limestone College Director of Social Work Technological Services, Mary Willis, has been named as a panelist for the Women In Leadership Higher Education Conference taking place in October at Harvard University.

The conference will be held at the Harvard Faculty Club on October 2-3 in Cambridge, MA. The event is an inclusive, two-day conference for senior-level higher education administrators and faculty to engage and share insight on improving gender diversity in higher-education leadership.

Chorus Germany

The Limestone College and Community Chorus departed from campus on Sunday, May 13, to perform during a tour of Germany.

The eight-day concert tour of Germany, which concludes on May 20, will include stops in Berlin, Wittenberg, Leipzig, Erfurt, Eisenach, and Dresden. The chorus is conducted by the College’s Professor of Choral/Vocal Education Dr. Gena Poovey and is accompanied by Limestone Professor of Music Dr. David Thompson.

Limestone College conferred a total of 310 degrees over three days during graduation ceremonies held May 10-12.

The 156 Day Campus students graduated on Thursday, May 10. Graduation for the 79 Evening Program students took place on Friday, May 11, and the 65 Online Program and 10 MBA Program students graduated on Saturday, May 12.

Including the 322 who graduated following the fall semester, Limestone awarded degrees to a total of 632 students during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Karen White - credit Marchet Butler

Limestone College will welcome New York Times bestselling author Karen White during a luncheon at Stephenson Dining Hall & Conference Center on Wednesday, June 13, at 12 p.m.

Tickets are $35 each and include a buffet meal, a lecture by the author, and a copy of White’s novel “Dreams of Falling.”
