Limestone Showcases Its Restored Steinway Piano with Concert Series by Celebrated Artists
Limestone College's restored 1969 Steinway "D" piano.

Limestone College will celebrate the restoration of its 1969 Steinway "D" piano with a series of performances by a collection of world renowned pianists in the College's Fullerton Auditorium.

The four-performance series will begin on October 25th and run through April 19th. All performances, which are free and open to the public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. and be followed by a reception with the artists in the Winnie Davis Hall of History.

Achieving Writing Excellence Program Garnering National Attention

AWE_WebDuring the 2008-2009 academic year, Limestone College launched its Achieving Writing Excellence program (AWE). It was the College's course of action-formally referred to as its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)-to strengthen students' writing skills all disciplines.

Barely into the third year of the five-year plan, the program has already caught the attention of college educators at the national level.

2011 Scholars, Dollars & Chocolates Raises $22,154 for Scholarships

Scholars_dollars_WebMusic and dinner along with jewelry and cash give-aways resulted in $22,154.00 being raised to benefit Limestone students from Cherokee County.

The evening included performances by the Limestone Men's Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and iPan Steel Pan Band. Door prizes, which were provided by sponsors, included a pendant, an earring set, and $1,000.00 in cash.

Theatre Director Nominated for Outstanding Set Design Award
Dr. Tim Baxter-Ferguson on the set he designed for Limestone Theatre's production of The Rainmaker.
Dr. Tim Baxter-Ferguson, Director of Theatre and Professor of English at Limestone College, has been nominated for the Outstanding Set Design Award in the 8th Annual Metrolina Theatre Awards (MTA) scheduled for October 9th in Charlotte, NC.
