Fallen British Soldiers Honored during Memorial

An American Revolution War re-enactor in British uniform stands during the memorial service to honor three fallen British soldiers who were buried on what is now the Limestone College campus. To see a photo slideshow of the event, click here .

A memorial service for three British soldiers who died as a result of injuries sustained during the Battle of Cowpens in the American Revolutionary War was underscored by the haunting notes of a bagpiper, smoke from rifles fired by Revolutionary War re-enactors, the release of six white doves, and the unveiling of a commemorative grave site marker.

Limestone Men's Lacrosse Reaches first NCAA Division II National Title Game Since 2005

Steve Gartelman stopped 12 shots including four in the final quarter of Saturday's national semifinal win at previously unbeaten Le Moyne.
No.3 Limestone led from start from to finish and defeated No.2 Le Moyne 10-8 in the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse national semifinals on Saturday, May 19 at the Dolphins' Niland Athletic Complex in Syracuse, N.Y.

Limestone, 17-1 overall, advances to the 2012NCAA Division II title game for the first time since 2005 where on Sunday, May 27 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. The Saints will play Dowling, a 7-6 overtime winner at No.1 Mercyhurst in Saturday's other semifinal.
