Palmetto Trust Honors Limestone for Renovation of Winnie Davis Hall of History

The Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation honored Limestone College with a 2010 Honor Award for the college's restoration of Winnie Davis Hall of History. The presentation was made during the organization's 15th annual awards ceremony in early March in Georgetown.

Martin Meek, president of Campbell Meek Architects of Spartanburg who directed the Limestone initiative, was also honored with the Palmetto Trust's Governor's Award for Lifetime Achievement in Preservation. Meek and McDaniel Construction were also presented with a 2010 Honor Award for their work on the Winnie Davis restoration.

Recital at Limestone Represents Homecoming for Gaffney-born Organist

Dr. Michael Grant will perform at Limestone on Tuesday, March 23rd, at 7:30 pm.

Gaffney native Dr. J. Michael Grant, who has delighted many church congregations with his organ performance skills, will return to his hometown for a recital in Limestone College's Fullerton Auditorium Tuesday, March 23rd at 7:30 p.m. Dr. David B. Thompson, Professor of Music at Limestone will join Grant to play several familiar piano/organ duets.

The recital, which is free and open to the public, will include "Prelude and Fugue in G Major" (Mendelssohn), "Prelude and Fugue in C Major" (Bach), "American Folk Hymn Suite" (Burkhardt) and "Three Transcriptions for Piano and Organ" (J. S. Bach).

Iranian-American Filmmaker to Screen Documentary; Lift Veil of Secrecy

Limestone College will welcome Iranian-American filmmaker Neda Sarmast to its campus March 22nd for a screening of her powerful documentary "Nobody's Enemy."

The screening, which will be followed with a question and answer session, will begin at 7 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium. Sponsored by the Limestone Chaplain's Office, the event is free and open to the public.
