Holocaust Survivor

Holocaust survivor Inge Auerbacher will be speaking at Limestone College on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Auerbacher was born in Germany and spent three years, between the ages of 7 and 10 years old, in the Terezin (Theresienstadt) concentration camp in Czechoslovakia, where about 1 percent of the 15,000 children there survived.

A Limestone College Associate Professor was recently invited to present at a College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) Annual Conference in Washington, DC.

At the conference in late September that was attended by more than 1,000 human resources professionals, Dr. Deitra C. Payne, Associate Professor of Human Resources Management, presented, “The Bullying Effect: Costs and Consequences to an Organization.”

Take 10

Limestone College will host the first of its “Take 10: Career Tips in 10 Minutes” series webinars on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m.

The free online webinar series has been created to give participants a brief overview of a specific career-related topic. Some of the topics will include: navigating the career services website, résumé basics, cover letters, and interview techniques.

The Carolina Pro Musica ensemble will be performing a concert at Limestone College’s Fullerton Auditorium on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m.

Admission to the concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Carolina Pro Musica was established in 1977 to promote the performance of music written before 1800 through the use of historic instruments and/or copies and in the performance practice of the periods in which the music was written.

Timken Foundation

A gift from the Timken Foundation is assisting Limestone College in replacing the roof at the Timken Center.

Limestone recently submitted a grant proposal seeking funding to help with the roof repairs for the gymnasium. The Timken Foundation awarded the College $100,000 for the $182,000 project. Limestone’s maintenance budget will cover the amount above what is being provided by the Timken Foundation.

When is the best time to make a gift?

Any gift is welcome at any time. Our fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30. For tax purposes, many of our donors find it beneficial to donation prior to the end of the calendar year (December 31).

You should pledge whatever amount is comfortable for you. Our goal is to receive gifts from everyone who has benefited directly or indirectly from their experience at Limestone College. With this level of support, we will readily satisfy our immediate annual needs and make our future more secure.

No. You can pay your pledge in full or pay in installments throughout the year. Let the Office of Institutional Advancement know which is most convenient for you. It is extremely important, however, that you fulfill your pledge within the fiscal year that it was made.
