Alumni and friends of Limestone will have the opportunity to honor the legacy of retiring President Dr. Walt Griffin during the College’s “SaintsGiving” event on November 28.

As part of the national "Giving Tuesday" initiative, Limestone will host its fourth annual “SaintsGiving” as a way to celebrate generosity and to encourage giving.

The focus of this year’s “SaintsGiving” will again be the Limestone Fund, and gifts can be made in honor of Griffin, who is retiring at the end of December after 25 years of service to the College.

Dr. Shelly Meyers, Director of Teacher Education at Limestone College, was recently presented with the Exemplary Service to the Teaching Profession Award from the South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators (SCATE).

Meyers received the award in October at the SCATE Annual Conference held at Coastal Carolina University in Conway.

Exemplary Service to the Teaching Profession Award is presented annually to an individual who has shown exceptional service to the education profession during the previous academic year.

Limestone College has been ranked one of the Top 25 online colleges for students to earn a two2-year associate degree.

SR Education Group of Kirkland, Wash., an education research publisher, recently evaluated 237 online schools nationally based on strength of online academic programs, annual tuition rates, and entrance exams.

The rankings were done to provide the highest value to students interested in an online college education.

Limestone College was ranked No. 24 on the list of top online colleges.

Limestone College Preceptor of English Dr. Eric Schaefer has edited a recently published book, entitled Over Oceans: A Memoir, by author K. L. White.

Schaefer, along with Leah Peters, edited White’s inspiring account of a woman who travels the world for Christian ministry. The memoir details White’s years as a sports chaplain to professional tennis players, beginning with her unexpected spiritual calling in front of her living room television.

A production of “The Altruists” will have a three-night run at Limestone College Theatre on November 16-18. Show-time each day is at 7:30 p.m.

Adult tickets are $10 each, while those 65-over and non-Limestone students (with ID) are $8 each. Limestone students, faculty and staff are admitted free. Tickets will be available at the door starting one hour before each performance. Tickets can be ordered in advance at Limestone College Theatre is located at 130 Leadmine Street in Gaffney.

Limestone College Physics Professor Dr. Scott Berry will present a lecture on Monday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. as part of Limestone’s “Reformation Reflections” series.

Berry’s talk is entitled “Because Calvin & Galileo Said So.” It will take place in the Carroll Hall of Fine Arts, Room 105. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Limestone College will host an Open House for prospective day students on Friday, November 10.

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Fullerton Auditorium. At 10 a.m., there will be a Fine Arts presentation at Fullerton Auditorium. Welcoming comments from Limestone President Dr. Walt Griffin will come at 10:20 a.m.

A campus tour then begins at the Academic Quad beginning at 10:40 a.m. At 11:15 a.m., faculty presentations to prospective students will be held in various locations.
