"The Altruists" Coming To Limestone Theatre November 16-18

A production of “The Altruists” will have a three-night run at Limestone College Theatre on November 16-18. Show-time each day is at 7:30 p.m.

Adult tickets are $10 each, while those 65-over and non-Limestone students (with ID) are $8 each. Limestone students, faculty and staff are admitted free. Tickets will be available at the door starting one hour before each performance. Tickets can be ordered in advance at limestone-college.ticketleap.com. Limestone College Theatre is located at 130 Leadmine Street in Gaffney.

The five-member cast includes J.R. Bloomer (Ronald)) from Gaffney; Anna Grace Bradford (Sydney) from Spartanburg; Jamaas Britton (Lance) from Somerset, NJ; Bre Surratt (Cybil) from Gaffney; and Christian Shupe (Ethan) from Athens, GA.

Rob Kahn is the Director. The playwright is Nicky Silver.

The play’s title is a sarcastic commentary on the characters who are, in Silver’s words, “heartless people doing cruel things.” Most of the people in Silver’s biting comedy purport to be people of social conscience, but in reality, they are a plague of parasitic hypocrites who denounce the flaws in others but remain conveniently blind to their own shortcomings.

Kahn has been a professional actor for over 25 years. He is a member of the Actor’s Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Radio and Television Artists. He has performed on stage throughout the country and has multiple film and television credits. He is currently an adjunct professor at Limestone College.
