A total of six new members were recently elected to the Limestone University Board of Trustees and will serve five-year terms that officially started on July 1.

The Limestone University Board of Trustees Class of 2025 includes Tony Fisher; Richard Jiran, Rahul N. Mehra, M.D.; Phil Orr; and Dr. Jonathan Waller. In addition, Tommy E. Martin was elected as a Senior member of the Board.

Limestone University’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic needs the support of our students to be successful.

To protect the health and well-being of the campus community, it is essential that Limestone University students have a COVID-19 diagnostic test prior to the new 2020-2021 academic year that begins in August. Students must submit online the necessary testing results prior to moving into residential housing or attending classes on the Day Campus in Gaffney.

Limestone is now utilizing the “Transferology” technology platform, which provides a fast and free way for students to explore their transfer options – whether that means changing schools or just taking a course somewhere else.

Limestone University Professor of Physical Education and Fulbright Scholar Dr. Felicia Cavallini recently had her peer review research journal manuscript published in the Journal of Physical Activity Research.

The journal publishes original research and communication papers concerning the interdisciplinary field of physical activity both as a health outcome as well as a risk factor.

Limestone University has named alumna Selena Blair as its new Director of Equity and Inclusion.

Although Blair just started her role in May of this year, she has already made strides toward furthering the institution’s commitment to inclusivity.

After preparing for the move for over two years, Limestone College officially changed its name to Limestone University on Wednesday, July 1.

As part of that name change, the institution based in Gaffney has unveiled a new logo that keeps its traditional school colors of blue and gold the same. Much of the signage at the Day Campus has already been changed. Signage changes are also on the way for Limestone’s five other instructional sites across the state.

On the day that Limestone College officially becomes Limestone University, WZZQ's popular "Fowler & Friends Morning Show" will be broadcasting live on campus from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m.

Show host Dennis Fowler will have several Limestone University guests on-air during the special four-hour broadcast.

Drop by and say "hello" to the Q-Crew that will be set-up directly in front of the Limestone Communications & Marketing Office, located beside the Curtis Building on the front campus.

City of Gaffney Limestone University Day

Mayor Henry L. Jolly (center) presents a City of Gaffney Resolution to Limestone College President Dr. Darrell Parker (left) and Limestone Board of Trustees Vice-Chairman David Riggins on Thursday, June 25. The Resolution declares Wednesday, July 1, as "Limestone University Day" in the City of Gaffney in honor of the institution officially changing its name on that date.

The Resolution also recognizes that Limestone is celebrating its 175 anniversary this year.

County Council Limestone University Day

Cherokee County Council presented a proclamation to Limestone College President Dr. Darrell Parker at its meeting on Monday, June 22, recognizing Wednesday, July 1, 2020, as "Limestone University Day."

The institution, founded in 1845, officially changes its name to Limestone University on July 1.
