Eight members of the Limestone College faculty and staff were recognized recently with Student Success Awards for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The recipient of the “Outstanding Tutor Award” was Business Economics major Pierluigi Neri. The award is recognized as a celebration of commitment and service shown by a peer tutor in order to serve the Limestone community. Students who attended tutoring sessions submitted nominations and Neri was chosen by a selection committee.

Limestone College recognizes each year faculty and staff members who go above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service and quality impressions in the classroom.

For the 2019-2020 academic year, it was announced recently that the Classroom High Impact Practices Award for a faculty member went to Dr. Randy Nichols, Associate Professor of Professional Communication. The Customer Service Award for a staff member went to Dennis Bloomer, who is the College's Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.

Women's Leadership Conference Logo Updated

The format for Limestone College’s upcoming inaugural Women’s Leadership Conference has been altered to follow social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The conference was originally scheduled to take place July 10-12, with over-night stays on campus. It will now be made up of one day of sessions on Saturday, July 11.

The event, which will be held after the institution changes its name to Limestone University, is open to all females 15-years-old and up. The registration fee has been reduced from $200 to $50.

Limestone College is shaking things up in order to provide a commencement ceremony for its recent graduates.

For the first time in several decades, Limestone is moving its ceremony outdoors. The guest speaker will be South Carolina Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette.

In what will be the final commencement exclusively for Limestone College – due to the institution’s impending name change to Limestone University this summer – the graduates will receive their degrees at Gaffney High School’s football stadium on Friday, May 29, at 10 a.m.

Four members of the Limestone College faculty have been recognized with Fullerton Foundation Excellence in Teaching Awards for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The recipients include Dr. Maria Felicia Cavallini, Dr. Yan Gong, Dr. Katherine Dale Guffey, and Dr. John “Jack” Knipe. The four would have been recognized during Limestone’s Academic Awards Ceremony this spring, but the event was cancelled due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Limestone College will be hosting its third esports online tournament on Friday, May 8, starting at 6 p.m.

In an effort to provide activities for Limestone students while they are finishing out the semester through remote learning due to the coronavirus pandemic, the College fast-tracked its esports program with its first online gaming tournament on March 28. A second tournament was held on April 17. 

Both of those were Rocket League competitions, but Limestone is switching things up this time around with a League of Legends tournament.

Limestone College Director of Theatre & Music Theatre Dr. Tim Baxter-Ferguson will have an Off-Broadway online reading of his play “Ice-Fishing On Europa” on Thursday, May 7.

Out Of The Box Theatrics will present Baxter-Ferguson's “Ice-Fishing On Europa” as its second installment of “Off The Couch,” which is a three-week virtual new works play festival.

“Ice-Fishing On Europa” will be livestreaming on Facebook and YouTube this Thursday starting at 7 p.m.

A year after implementing a fresh approach to its solid foundation, Limestone College’s Honors Program continues to present select undergraduates the opportunity to pursue academic excellence within a community of like-minded learners.

In the spring of 2019, Director Dr. Jonathan Sarnoff and a leadership committee took the reins of the College’s Honors Program that offers talented and motivated students the prospect of reaching greater heights through their experiences at Limestone.

Limestone students should complete their own Census based on where they would have been on April 1, 2020. Those Limestone students who returned home for remote instruction due to the COVID-19 health crises can still fill out the census using their mailing addresses in Cherokee County.

Candelabra 2020

Limestone College’s 2020 edition of the Candelabra has made its digital debut.

The Candelabra is Limestone’s annual literary magazine, which is published each spring. The publication includes poems, essays, short stories, and artwork that has been submitted by students, staff, faculty, and alumni.
