Limestone College’s new women’s wrestling program will conduct a Prospect Clinic on Sunday, January 13, starting at 8 a.m.

The cost to attend the clinic, which is open to high school female athletes and recent graduates, is $25 per person. The clinic will include a practice session, a tour of the Limestone campus, attendance at a Limestone men’s wrestling dual meet, and a question-and answer-session with head coach Brandy Green. Limestone College's Matt Hayes (Coordinator of Athletic Facilities & Operations), along with Mike Smith (Associate Athletic Director for External Relations/Director of the Saints Club) and Charles Wyatt (Vice President for Communications & Marketing), appeared on WZZQ radio on Friday, January 11, 2019, to provide listeners with an update on the progress of the Bob Prevatte Complex.

The complex will soon benefit the entire Limestone campus community and residents of Gaffney and Cherokee County.

Limestone College has 17 students who received scholarships this year through a grant program operated by the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (SCICU).

The SCICU supports and promotes the values of independent higher education in South Carolina. It seeks to advance higher education through fundraising, scholarships, and research, as well as by facilitating collaborative activities among the member institutions. The nonprofit organization also enhances a positive public image and encourages government policies that support independent higher education.

Having himself endured being treated and regarded differently because of his Latino heritage, Carlos Gomez has committed his adult life to helping make dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. real for all people.

He grew up being referred to as “mixed,” and the “son of a drug dealer.” He is now using the arts of poetry, writing, acting, and speech to erase such stereotypes.

Professor Cavallini To Have Research Published In Journal

Limestone College’s Professor of Physical Education, Dr. Felicia Cavallini, will soon have some of her research published in a renowned, peer-reviewed publication.

Cavallini is invested in educating others on how simple it is to achieve the recommended amount of daily physical activity within the comfort of one’s home, school, or workplace.

The research to be published in the Journal of Behavioral and Social Science explores how women engage in physical activity within their daily routines at home and work.
