Holocaust Survivor

Holocaust survivor Inge Auerbacher will be speaking at Limestone College on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Auerbacher was born in Germany and spent three years, between the ages of 7 and 10 years old, in the Terezin (Theresienstadt) concentration camp in Czechoslovakia, where about 1 percent of the 15,000 children there survived.

Take 10

Limestone College will host the first of its “Take 10: Career Tips in 10 Minutes” series webinars on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m.

The free online webinar series has been created to give participants a brief overview of a specific career-related topic. Some of the topics will include: navigating the career services website, résumé basics, cover letters, and interview techniques.

A Limestone College Associate Professor was recently invited to present at a College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) Annual Conference in Washington, DC.

At the conference in late September that was attended by more than 1,000 human resources professionals, Dr. Deitra C. Payne, Associate Professor of Human Resources Management, presented, “The Bullying Effect: Costs and Consequences to an Organization.”

The Carolina Pro Musica ensemble will be performing a concert at Limestone College’s Fullerton Auditorium on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m.

Admission to the concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Carolina Pro Musica was established in 1977 to promote the performance of music written before 1800 through the use of historic instruments and/or copies and in the performance practice of the periods in which the music was written.

A Limestone College professor had chapters published in two different books earlier this year.

Dr. Brian Holcomb, an Assistant Professor of English, wrote chapters for “Tim Burton: Essays on the Films” and “Middlebrow Wodehouse.” (Click the accompanying graphic to see the full covers of both books.)
