Learned Ladies

Limestone College’s Department of Theatre will present “The Learned Ladies” during a three-night run February 22-24.

Showtime will be at 7:30 each night at Limestone Center Theatre, located at 130 Leadmine Street in Gaffney.

Starting at 6:45 p.m., there will be a dramaturgical presentation before the show on February 23.

Carolyn Ford To Present Exhibition In Tennessee

A new art exhibition entitled “Storyteller: Solo Show” by Limestone College Professor of Art Carolyn Ford will be presented at the Eoff Hall Gallery on the campus of Motlow State Community College in Tullahoma, TN.


The exhibit, which will feature 56 ceramic carved tiles, will run from Feb. 12 through March 22. Ford will also present a special artist talk and lecture on Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. until noon at the gallery. The event is free and open to the public.

Limestone College Assistant Professor of History Dr. Karl Trybus will present a lecture on Monday, Feb. 5, at 7:30 p.m., entitled “Reactions of the Catholic Church to the Reformation.”

The talk will take place in Room 105 of the Carroll Hall of Fine Arts on the Limestone campus. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Limestone College is now offering a Healthcare Administration concentration to its online Master’s in Business Administration Program for students seeking a leadership career in healthcare-related fields.

“This concentration is for anyone who wants to be a leader or manager in healthcare,” said MBA Program Director Dr. Shannon Creighton. “The MBA program is not just for business students anymore. There is a huge need for healthcare management, which is the business side of healthcare. The healthcare system needs leaders who understand the business aspect.”

Singing Valentines February 14, 2018

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and the Limestone College Chorus is once again making plans to help you surprise your special someone.

For the fourth straight year, the Limestone College Chorus is prepared to deliver an out of the ordinary gift later this month, a Singing Valentine.

The Chorus members will deliver Singing Valentines throughout the Cherokee County area on Wednesday, Feb. 14, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

On Tuesday, January 30, the segment's hosts Dennis Fowler and Limestone Vice President for Communications & Marketing Charles Wyatt will be joined by Mike Smith, the College's Associate Athletic Director for External Relations.

On Tuesday, February 6, Fowler and Wyatt will be joined by Limestone College president Dr. Darrell Parker.

Limestone Hall of Fame

The Limestone College Athletics Department recently announced its 2018 Hall of Fame Class, a group of trailblazers that features three former standout student-athletes, a pair of special inductees, and a championship team.  
 
The 22nd Hall of Fame class consists of former athletes Will Doyle '94 (men's lacrosse), Derek Thomas '03 (men's soccer), and Michelle Lare '04 (women's lacrosse), along with the 2006 Men's Soccer Team and special inductees Todd Shanesy (media) and Alan Welch (staff).
 

11th Annual High School Honor Band Clinic at Limestone Feb. 1-3

Limestone College will conduct its 11th annual High School Honor Band Clinic from Thursday, Feb. 1 through Saturday, Feb. 3.

Participants from throughout the Southeast were nominated by their high school band directors, and those selected are attending the clinic free of charge. Chairs will be determined by a short performance audition that will include selected scales and sight-reading.

At least 180 high school wind players and percussionists are expected to attend the three-day event.

Dr. Cavallini To Make Presentations on Physical Activity Plan

A Limestone College professor will soon be barnstorming the nation in an effort to get America healthy.

Dr. Felicia Cavallini, Professor of Physical Education, has been selected to make presentations in three major areas of the United States in support of her research concerning how people like to exercise. Dr. Cavallini is part of a research team that had a manuscript published last year by the Journal of Physical Activity Research.

Limestone Head Football Coach Lands Role With Chicago Bears Staff

Limestone College’s loss is the Chicago Bears’ gain as it was announced this week that Saints head football coach Mike Furrey is heading back to the NFL.

Furrey, who compiled a record of 10-12 in his two seasons at the helm of the Limestone program, has been hired by new Bears head coach Matt Nagy to coach wide receivers. Nagy previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Kanas City Chiefs.
