Meet Limestone Saints Interim Head Football Coach Brian Turk

As announced earlier today, Limestone College dismissed head football coach Tony Ierulli and offensive coordinator Brian Turk has been named the interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Here is more about Brian Turk:

Turk was hired in 2017 as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at Limestone by former Saints head coach Mike Furrey. Turk was elevated to offensive coordinator for the 2018 season.

Turk joined the Saints after spending the previous nine years at Carolina where he worked his way up through the ranks, first as a student manager, then as an offensive intern and a graduate assistant coach for Steve Spurrier before eventually being named the assistant director of recruiting on Will Muschamp's staff in 2016.

During his time on Muschamp's staff, Turk was responsible for all offensive recruiting and his efforts helped the Gamecocks land back-to-back top-20 recruiting classes. Among his many duties, he identified and scouted high school and junior college players and assisted with all on-campus recruiting activities.

Prior to his recruiting responsibilities, he spent four seasons as a graduate assistant coach and offensive analyst on Spurrier's staff. Turk worked with the quarterbacks, including Connor Shaw and Dylan Thompson – both of whom threw for over 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns each during their respective careers at USC.

Under Turk's mentorship, Shaw set the Gamecocks' single-season and career records for completion percentage while finishing second all-time with 56 career touchdowns through the air. Thompson broke Carolina's single-season marks in passing yards, pass completions, and pass attempts during the 2014 season while finishing second all-time with 26 touchdowns during his senior year.

Turk spent the 2011 campaign as an offensive intern, working with the quarterbacks, and he was a student manager with the Gamecocks for three and a half years. Prior to his time at South Carolina, he was an assistant varsity coach at Ben Lippen High School in Columbia.

During his tenure at USC, Turk helped guide the Gamecocks to three straight 11-win seasons – a first in program history – and coached in four straight New Year's Day bowl games, including two Capital One Bowls and two Outback Bowls. At Ben Lippen High School, he mentored three players who earned All-Region recognition.

Turk graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Entertainment Management. He and his wife, the former Kendra Davis, have three children, Millie, Patrick, and Benjamin.
