Four Limestone College students and an associate music professor will participate in the 16th Annual South Carolina Intercollegiate Honor Band at Winthrop University January 21-23.

The Honor Band will perform a free concert on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at Byrnes Auditorium on the Winthrop campus in Rock Hill.

The ensemble, comprised of college students from many colleges and universities throughout South Carolina, will rehearse under the direction of Eugene Migliaro Corporon from the University of North Texas.

Limestone students taking part are Miles Hampton, Tamara Hughes, Tyler Scarabino, and David Turner.

“This will be a wonderful experience for the students and an awesome representation for Limestone,” said Associate Professor of Music Education Dr. Patrick Carney, who will accompany the group.

Students are chosen for the Honors Band by director recommendations and auditions. Approximately 100 students will come together to create the concert band.
