Limestone Professor Featured In Exhibit at Wofford College

Wofford College in Spartanburg will welcome Limestone College art professor Carolyn Ford for an “Artist Talk & Reception” on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Ford’s “Discombobulated” exhibit of recent works in ceramics will be featured at Wofford from Aug. 31-Oct. 30 in the Martha Cloud Chapman Gallery.

“Discombobulated” offers a portal into the mind of the ceramicist Carolyn Ford. Working with the circular form – where there is no beginning or end to the works or to Ford’s thoughts – Ford calls the works “a form of catharsis.”

According to Ford, “the physicality of working with the clay as well as the risk, surprise, and flexibility of the medium” complete the meditative process that may start in a linear, more sculptural path but ends up “discombobulated” after being thrown on the potther’s wheel.
