Limestone Professor Erin Pushman To Have Essay Published In Academic Journal

Limestone College Professor Erin Pushman will have her essay, “5 Student Phrases That Stick And The Reasons They Stay Lodged in My Memory Long After The Essays Are Graded and Returned,” published in the Fall issue of Writing on the Edge (WOE).

Pushman is a Professor of English at Limestone and serves as the Director of the Writing Center.

“The essay is a list/essay hybrid, and it is the first reflective essay I have published about teaching college writing.” Pushman said. “The essay will be included in Writing on the Edge, which is peer-reviewed writing studies journal that publishes work by teaching writers.”

WOE is an interdisciplinary journal focused on writing and the teaching of writing. It is edited and published at the University of California-Davis.

Pushman is a member of the standing committee for the Conference on College Composition & Communication (CCCC) Creative Nonfiction Special Interest Group.

Pushman's writing has appeared or is forthcoming in 1966: A Journal of Creative Nonfiction, the Gettysburg Review, Breastfeeding Today, Cold Mountain Review, Pangyrus, More New Monologues for Women by Women II (Heinemann), Boomtown (Press 53), and elsewhere. She is the recipient of a 2017 North Carolina Regional Artist Project Grant and is the current chair of the Donald Murray Prize in Creative Nonfiction from the Conference of College Composition and Communication.
